Kiana Lodge Wedding | Amy + Nate | Seattle Wedding Photographer

Amy has the best LAUGH. It’s one of those laughs that encompasses her entire being…head back, full of life and completely her own. Amy’s laugh and ease resonate through her interactions and relationships. Nate's demeanor is the perfect complement to her energy – serene, contemplative, unflappable. From all accounts they are a dynamic and supportive partnership.

Amy and Nate chose a venue and theme that best represented their combined personalities. Kiana Lodge is an absolute tranquil, picturesque location for a wedding celebration. Located on the Kitsap Peninsula just west of Seattle. Kiana offers a rustic setting along a gorgeous waterfront.

The bride's manner is what I would term "elegant ease." Amy's classic sense of style and self shown through in her choice of an elegant ivory lace gown, pearl accents and side-swept hair. I would have been perfectly content spending the entire day on bridal portraits alone!

Orange is Amy’s favorite color and the perfect complement to her autumn wedding setting. The lodge’s timber decor along with splashes of orange, coral, red and gold were juxtaposed against the coolness of blue, green and silver tones. A STUNNING(!!) autumn-inspired 8-foot floral alter was crafted for the ceremony, intricately designed to showcase some of the best PNW fall foliage around. (Enter dreamy sigh here).

The weather for this late October day turned out to be downright perfect. A chilly and foggy morning made way for a sun-kissed first look later in the day. Nate and Amy also allowed me to sneak them away for a few quiet moments on our own. (This was about the point when I totally impressed Nate with my knowledge of Mechanical Engineering jokes. And by "impressed" I mean awkwardly embarrassed. Thank goodness he is far classier than me ;).

Amy and Nate are truly in their element when surrounded by their families and the friends they have come to call family. The love and pure JOY for this couple resonated throughout the celebrations. (And Amy's family has a particular panache for great wine -- so, my kind of people)! In each detail of their day the couple made the point of focusing much of their attention on thanking and honoring the friends and family that surrounded them. A more loyal and loving "tribe" they could not ask for.

Amy and Nate’s wedding day was a joyous, laugh-as-big-as-possible celebration highlighted by the joining of their treasured family, friends into their united partnership.

We celebrate you, Amy and Nate! Cheers to many years and beers! And wine.
